top of the class

mary-kate & ashley olsen were awarded 'style icons of 2010' at the elle style awards last night', well deserved i say.

take me to the laboratory

as promised, here are some of the images from the 'label lab' shoot in all their glory. exclusive to house of fraser 'label lab' hits stores in march. of course my personal favourite is the white 'goddess' one shoulder maxi dress - i predict a bestseller/ riot.

get yer stalk on

i spent my saturday night waiting for and finally watching the alexander wang fall 2010 show live from nyc on my laptop. much much much better than going out. the show unsurprisingly was amazballs, but i find myself just as interested in the front row and what the fashion royalty are wearing as the clothes on the runway. alice dellal, pixie and henry holland were there, no doubt supporting their pal aggy on the catwalk along with julia restoin-roitfeld - well she's just amazeballs too. i will be watching the rodarte show next also on my laptop from the comfort on my sofa - nyc is just wayyyyy too cold right now :)

12.2.10

to the max

i am without doubt having a maxi dress and jumpsuit moment, it's all i find myself wanting to buy right now. there's just something about the onesies!

here's one i made earlier with the help of my good friend polyvore...a concoction of tribal/ grunge. i have only just realised (duh) how perfectly turquoise compliments silver jewellery, i don't own any turquoise jewellery but i plan to change that and wear with silver bangles piled high up my arm and skulls on my fingers.

vivienne rules ok

(bag - vivienne westwood at house of fraser)
in the mood for a nude. of all the SS10 bags we have had in the office recently this is the one i would like over my shoulder the most come spring time :)

shoots, mirrors & a floral jumpsuit

(jumpsuit - miss selfridge)
it's been a while since my last post...mainly due to work and partying a little too hard! In terms of work, a last minute shoot came together nicely - house of fraser is launching a new label - 'Label Lab' - a girly grunge collection with lots of draping and ruffles. think feminine dress worn with distressed workman boots. images coming soon! some mirror fun took place on a night out in london, the rest of the night is a blurrr so that's all i have to say about that. my jumpsuit addiction led to the purchase of this floral gorgeousness. i ordered it online and assumed it was silk (obviously no attention paid to 'insignificant' details on the webpage) but it's actually jersey which disappointed me slightly but i got over it. i love the
70s style - maybe its time for a farrah fawcett blowdry. another one for ibiza. xx

backpacks and bunny ears

(bunny ears - topshop, backpack - ebay)
backpacks showed up on several of the SS10 runways (alexander wang - FAVE, ashish, louis vuitton...) and personally i am all for this trend. i haven't had one on my back since year 7 (a teal nike one with padded straps if am remembering correctly) but i will be very grateful for the comfort of a double strap bag on my back, spreading the weight between both shoulders! this tan leather ebay lovely will toughen up a girly summer outfit (there i go again - yes i am ALLERGIC to the cold) i can't really explain the bunny ears...they were in the sale?...i want to be a gold bunny?

homesweetsweethome

(coat - bruuns bazaar at house of fraser, boots - topshop, bought from ebay, bag - dkny at house of fraser)
another day another dollar. home to my mum's cooking, already waiting for me on the table when i get in (loves you mum x) this timeless coat has gotten me through the winter, it was the last one in store and it is slightly too big (note the rolled up sleeves) but i kept wandering back to it and i'm so glad i gave in. the military style is rarely out of fashion and i've no doubt that i will be wearing this for years and years to come (this is me 'justifying' the hefty price tag) i have been looking around for some thigh high boots that weren't flat but weren't too high (thigh high's are tricky at the best of times let alone ones with a hoe bag heel) i found these on ebay and i fought hard to get them. i did pay more than i wanted to and it isn't the first time i have got carried away - getting more excited by the last minute bidding than the actual item i'm bidding on! oopsie. i do love them though and they will last for years ('justifying' again) still using my bag of the moment (christmas present so no 'justifying' needed) x

wishlist

(clogs - topshop)
clogs are going to be huge this spring summer thanks to chanel. i already have my eyes on these topshop lovelies which will be mine come payday.

if it was a really warm day today

i've recently discovered polyvore - a website where you can create any outfit you
like = muchos fun. it took me a while to figure out how it works but 2 hours later and voila. i think i am getting a little ahead of myself - i am aware it is only the middle of january and this outfit would not be in any way suitable until at least 6 months away but i am just really really excited about the summer and the new additions that will be filling my wardrobe.

10.1.10

the same but different

(bag - dkny at house of fraser)
this beaut was a christmas present from moi to moi. i lOvE the chanel cocoon collection but the price tag of my favourite, the large tote, didn't quite agree with my current bank balance. i think this dkny, hmmmmmmm i hate to say it 'knock off' so lets say 'inspired by' tote is just as gorgeous. i have used it everyday since i got it, it's the perfect work bag, i can fit my life in it. some (my dad) would say it's a little bit ridiculously big, not me! it's water resistant too, very practical (dad likes that) x

6.1.10

my hand got really really cold

(bird ring - freedom, silver 'jacinda' ring - dannijo, net-a-porter.com)
i had to take these photos really quickly before my hand froze off and the rings sunk in the snow. the dannijo ring was a present from my sister for christmas and i bought the bird one yesterday in selfridges, i actually bought 2 - one for me and one for holly my bestie, just so that we can be bird twins. i'm even going to get mine silver plated so that i can wear it forever without my finger rotting off. the dannijo ring caught my eye a while ago, possibly because it's silver, shiny and oversized?

i had to include the snow somewhere in this post seeing as it is today's hot (or cold) topic. sorry i couldn't resist. i didn't make it to work so have been 'attempting' to work from home, bit tricky - my apologies to any magazines waiting for samples from house of fraser, i'm stuck in the snow :(

i'll let you know if i need supplies.

(i decided today that i didn't like capital letters - hence their absence in this post - don't think i'll use them for a while)

Marmite

You either love her or hate her but either way there is no denying how good Lindsay Lohan looks in this shoot for Muse Magazine (Italian) - photographer Yu Tsai. I loves her.

Mirror Mirror

(Dress - H&M)
I don't actually make a habit of posing infront of mirrors but this dress was also in the running for NYE and I needed a little help with my decision making - step forward the mirror and blackberry. The dress lost out to the jumpsuit but I still love it and will be wearing it when the weather warms up and I can get out my gladiators. Sunshine please. Ibiza please. Now please.

AppyyyOoooooooooooEarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

(Jumpsuit - River Island, Belt - Topshop)
Considering that I bought a new camera for the event it's pretty lame that this is the only picture I have of my NYE outfit (this wasn't even taken on the night!) I want to wear jumpsuits forever, I wish I could afford a Halston one :(
